Oil Paints
My oil paintings are my most current efforts. I will often draw versions in pencil first in order to see areas of light and shade. Many of my paintings go through various stages and I've painted over whole sections to accommodate the important aspects I find when sitting back and viewing the painting as a whole.
Sketches
Pencil drawings. I like to sketch several times before I consider painting with oil. I get a sense of perspective and the frame of the paper, the context of the subject. Where I might go with the actual piece, in color or in charcoal.
